Administrative Support (AS-5) GOA – Calgary

We are accepting applicants to work for our clients in Calgary with the GoA (Government of Alberta) to work as an Administrative Support 5 (AS5).  This position will start immediately.

This position will be responsible for working with the provincial chair and regional vice-chairs, assisting them in scheduling, troubleshooting, urgent and various appeals related issues that arise prior to and during hearings,  answer public inquiries regarding the time extensions to appeal and appeal process, does follow-up on old appeals, checks written documents submissions to ensure they exhibited properly, files appeal packages, does scanning and photocopying, books hearing rooms, gets coffee and water for appellants in the waiting room , and creates and uploads scheduling or returned letters.

Time management and organizational skills are important. Duties include managing calendar scheduling, monitoring email and responses, taking minutes, troubleshooting and handling projects as they arise.

The ideal candidate must have strong computer skills and must be able to adapt to a changing environment and priorities while meeting deadlines.   This position requires diplomacy and discretion. The individual must be cognizant of what information can be shared with whom.

To be successful he/she must have the ability to build strong working relationships with all levels of the ministry while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Skills/Qualifications Required:

  • University Degree/College Diploma plus related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  •  Familiar with ARTS, Sharepoint, Images, Exclaim and other GoA computer programs
  • Experience working for the government is preferred but not a requirement
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment


This is a temporary full-time position that could possibly turn into a long-term position.  We pay our temporary staff on a weekly basis with 4 % vacation pay.
