Communications Assistant – FILLED

We are looking for a Communications Assistant on behalf of our client, a highly respected non-profit organization in downtown Edmonton.

If you’re an organized self-starter who is tech savvy, possesses outstanding written and verbal communication skills, are able to manage social media, blogs and a web presence and are a team player who is willing to help out when and where it’s needed and can adapt to changing priorities, you’re the person we’re looking for.

SUMMARY OF THE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with planning and organizing events
  • Prepare agendas, conduct research and assist in managing projects
  • Coordinate office activities/events planning and catering services
  • Writing, editing and formatting letters and documents
  • Creating and managing databases and spreadsheets
  • Prepare reports , presentations and promotional materials
  • Assisting with media coverage and write press releases if needed
  • Assist in other general administrative support such as answering phones, file management and other clerical duties when needed

QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Experience using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and intermediate to advanced in Microsoft Office (Skill testing will be required )
  • Bachelors Degree in English Literature/Communications or related experience
  • Comfortable using social media
  • Strong technical skills
  • Superb communication skills
  • Experience in Technical Writing and Curriculum Design
