President and CEO Kitnuna Corporation – CLOSED/FILLED

Kitnuna Corporation is seeking a President and CEO for its headquarters office in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut Territory. The position will direct and coordinate the diverse activities of the Kitnuna Group of companies, which engages in fuel distribution, expediting, maintenance contracts, environmental clean up, winter road construction and more. Operating entities include: Kitnuna Expediting Services, Kitnuna Projects, Kitnuna Petroleum and Kitnuna Pharmacy. A key goal is to advance beneficiary employment in all of its business endeavors.

An ideal background would include education or experience that approximates a civil engineering designation, combined with an MBA; the degrees are not essential, it is the knowledge that will be needed. Your executive experience will have provided the ability to manage several diverse profit centres, and an understanding of financial management and analysis, cash flow, project estimating and cost control, revenue generation and marketing. You must be able to adapt to the cultural difference of a varied northern workforce, as well as to a remote community and project sites.

You have significant experience managing major projects, and are familiar with the complexities of northern construction practices, construction law and contract languages. You have solid skills in the use of modern communication and office technologies. You are a confident communicator, with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. You must be able to work effectively with the public, media and interest groups on sensitive and contentious issues, and have the ability to remain composed and flexible under pressure.

Working with the Chair and the Kitnuna Board, you will require a focus on operational issues while using a strategic approach to grow the Corporation’s revenues and profitability.
